i.jamas Inspection Overview
The i-jamas inspection has two components: the person, the inspecting officer, and the 'mobile auditing / inspecting system', namely Audit Manager (AM2). james & associates specialise in all aspects of regulatory services, environmental health, housing & trading standards, as such the person will always be a suitably qualified, suitably experienced officer, appropriate to the clients requirements ... nothing changed there then.
Audit Manager, otherwise referred to as AM2, is rather different.
Audit Manager is a software auditing package, designed by an auditing company ... not a software house. It is designed and on-goingly developed by the very people who use it. Audit manager is in use everyday, and has been for the last 4 years ... completing 3 - 4000 audits every month, nationwide ... auditing many of the largest food retailers in the country and several other blue chip organisations.
AM2 was completely rebuilt in 2008.
Being a web-based system, Audit Manager can be used as a totally stand alone system or can, with the co-operation of the back-office system provider, become fully integrated, and provide automatic updating of the back-office. Audit Manager is hosted by Rackspace who offer world class standards in terms of guarantees, scalability and security.
AUDIT MANAGER (AM2)
- utilises hand held PDA's or Smartphones
- Standard or specifically designed inspection templates are generated onto PDA's. Templates may vary in level of complexity and depth depending on inspection type.
- holds the 'policy' or the 'standard' behind every question.
- questions can be identified as 'legal requirement' or 'best practise' and scored accordingly.
- receives data uploads from the hand held device using Wi-Fi, GPRS(subject to clients choice of hardware) or local area network internet access.
- provides instant remote viewing of inspection reports over the web. These can be scored to provide the user with a RAG (Red, Amber, Green) 'traffic light' rating system.
- sends automatic email reports to key personnel who can be nominated by the user. This allows for the sharing of information between key agencies.
- allows for the remote real time analysis of data through a suite of tailorable reports. "Lets just look at the S....t Group ? - what are the key issues relating to food safety, food standards and health & safety" or " What are the common problems found at all of the rented properties managed by Such & Such, the managing agents ? - shall we notify Trading Standards and the Fire Officer ?"
- no requirement to install software as the whole system is available through a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
- continual development - regular system auto-updates and enhancements.
- If the PDA is lost or damaged beyond repair, the only data loss is that work done since the last upload/download ... so should be no more than one days work lost.
- If the PDA falls into the wrong hands ? Access to the data is protected by User name, password and pin number ... report the loss and we will switch it off, permanently.
The system is beneficial to any Local Authority department that has a need to routinely inspect businesses, properties or audit procedures to check compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
